SIFE Egypt training session 2007
a training session and so much more
SIFE Egypt holds a training session once a year, where all the teams get to know more about leadership skills and how to apply the SIFE criteria in an attempt to really change the world. This year, the GUC had the honor to host the training session. It was a very prolific session with attendees from SIFE teams all over Egypt.

From the beginning, SIFE members had sleepless nights planning for this big event and considering the mistakes of the other teams in previous years. Everything had to be well thought-out; starting from the training session hall to the name tags of the students passing by the folders distributed containing the program and the note pads.

The session is starting. Hurry up!

It’s 9 a.m. and university representatives start to appear. We can see two registration booths for students from other SIFE teams, where they are handed folders and name tags. We can find a guide with each university to help them sit in their right places. C1 is full of attendees and Mr. Williams Rich, the host, is now on stage starting his speech.

It was a three hour fruitful presentation that started off by dividing the attendees into groups of mixed universities to pledge the team work principle. He started by passing playing cards for every group and he showed the difference between the project with and without planning. Then it was time for the lunch break; which was a good opportunity for all SIFE Egypt team members to mingle, share some thoughts and take pictures.

Then it was time for continuing the presentation for another three hours and again it was time for challenging games. This time, it was an egg for every team and each had to find a way to drop it from a height of 3 meters. .There was a flurry of motion, with people running everywhere probing for an idea to drop the egg without breaking it. Now the clock strikes five and it's time for Mr. Rich to head off. He wraps up the whole thing and makes his leave.

After such a booming day, it was a must to write about how we- GUCians- successfully pulled it together to execute such a well-organized event, despite being SIFErs for only one year now. I feel proud to be a SIFE GUC member.

KEEP ROCKING GUYZ!!!
