Christmas Bazaar and Dinner

The GUC organized its second Christmas Bazaar and Garage Sale on campus last December 2007. The aim was to promote and encourage students and staff interactions with the community, as well as supporting people with special needs during the holiday season by their participation. Afterwards, the GUC staff gathered for a Christmas dinner at the GUC new C – Building and had a chance to mingle together.

GUCians in Sharm

A number of 50 GUC students went on a - four days trip to Sharm El-Sheikh during the mid year vacation, a trip that was organized by Dr. Farouk El-Razzaz, Head of student activities department at the GUC.

The students, along with the four supervisors, stayed at the Cataract resort and enjoyed an unforgettable Bedouin night, a Safari during the sun set and the sun rise, snorkeling, and a day at Ras Mohamed.

Acting Team in action

The GUC acting team make sure to regularly rehearse their lines for the new play.

The next play will be discussing the effects of technology on our daily lives. The script was written by

Talents discovered

The GUC oriental music team is aiming to foster the talents of students playing instruments and singing.

During their rehearsals the students are supervised by Dr. Farouk El-Razzaz, Head of student activities department at the GUC.

The old classical songs are mostly preferred by the team, they practice songs for Fayrouz, Fayza Ahmed, Om Kalthoum and also Abdel Halim Hafez.

Chairman break

by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour Prime Founder and Chairman of Board of Trustees invited all the GIC Staff for an hour coffee break during the office hours, so that all can interact together, discuss subjects and topics of mutual interest, and get to know each other better on personal level and to spend a nice time together.

This time the aim was to also improve the internal communication and enhance inter-departmental understanding through introducing and integrating departmental presentations to the weekly “Chairman Coffee-break”. Accordingly, every week a department will hold an informative presentation about its various services, activities, goals and objectives for about 20 min.

Farewell at the Grand Hyatt

On the occasion of bidding farewell to Dr. Peter Goepfrich – Chief Executive Officer of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Egypt, the GUC organized a reception at the Nile Expo Hall, of the Grand Hyatt Cairo Hotel. This spectacular event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour Prime Founder and Chairman of Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Kader, GUC President and H.E Bern Erbel, German Ambassador to Egypt, as well as a number of VIPs, German Communities and prominent journalists.

Chemistry workshop for children

The GUC organized a chemistry workshop for children between the ages of 7 – 14 years. The aim is to attract children to love physics, chemistry and biology and to make it their favorite subjects at school. This was done through simplifying science experiments and introducing it to children in a form of play and games. GUC invited specialists from Bielefeld University, Germany, to introduce and demonstrate their experiments the kids and help them understand the world surrounding them and change the old myth about science that it is so abstract and only for genius to understand.

Art Exhibition
February 2008

GUC faculty applied sciences and arts held its annual exhibition presenting the students art work and semester accomplishments. The theme this year included a wide range of calligraphy live show and performance. the gallery opening was attended by the GUC staff and students, who were very pleased by the students’ final projects and work.
