Afterwards, a number of honored speakers gave a word to the graduates starting with H.E. Bernd Erbel, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Egypt followed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Peter Frankenberg, Minister of Higher Education of Baden Württemberg in Germany and H.E. Prof. Dr. Hani Helal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt and last but not least Dr. Arend Oetker, the President of the Donors’ Association for Science & Humanities.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, GUC Prime Founder and Chairman of Board of Trustees gave the final welcome speech congratulating all guests, students and their families, followed by an enlightening presentation about the University and its establishment stages.
On this special occasion Prof. Mansour presented a number of honorary awards - including a special GUC Shield designed and produced at the GUC Industrial Park - to the Egyptian and German eminent personalities who have exerted tremendous efforts during the establishment of the GUC and have shown great support to the GUC mission over the years.
Harpist Manal Mohie El-Din inspired and entertained the guests with her musical performance that combined both Oriental and Classical tunes.
After the joint valedictory speech and the submission of the degrees, a number of VIP’s attended the reception prepared along with Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour and the GUC staff to congratulate them on the beginning of a GUC Alumni Community and the continuation of the GUC academic role in society.
Among the prominent VIPs were Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Prime Minister Atef Ebeid, Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Zakzouk, Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Ali Meselhi, Governor of Central Bank of Egypt , Dr. Farouk Al-Oukda, as well as Chairman of Dar Al-Tahrir Press, Mr. Mohamed Abou El-Hadid.
